Brian Heineman, DO

Brian Heineman, D.O., has dedicated a long and distinguished career to practicing medicine and serving the communities he calls home. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Iowa before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery.

Dr. Heineman began his medical career in Family Practice with Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. He later established a private practice at Story City Memorial Hospital. In 1989, Dr. Heineman opened a clinic in Grinnell, where he practiced with UnityPoint Grinnell Regional. He also opened a clinic in Brooklyn that same year, which became known as Brooklyn Medical Clinic.

Throughout his career, Dr. Heineman has been committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care. He has built a respected medical practice serving the Brooklyn community and has thoughtfully selected skilled and caring providers who share his dedication to their patients.

In 2026, Brooklyn Medical Clinic partnered with Compass Memorial Healthcare and became Brooklyn Family Medical Clinic, continuing Dr. Heineman’s legacy of quality and compassionate healthcare for the Brooklyn community.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Heineman enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, and their four children and family. He has also remained actively involved in the communities he serves and enjoys gardening in his free time.
