Randy Cornelius, CRNA
AnesthesiaRandy Cornelius, CRNA, provides anesthesia services at Compass Memorial Healthcare. He is committed to delivering safe, patient-centered anesthesia care and takes pride in guiding patients comfortably and confidently through their surgical experience.
Randy earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allen College in 2002, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Anesthesia in 2009, and his Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2015, both from University of Iowa. He completed a fellowship in acute surgical pain management from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2018 and has provided anesthesia care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and critical access hospitals throughout Northeast Iowa.
In addition to his clinical work, Randy has been highly involved in leadership roles within the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves until his retirement in 2025. This experience has brought a strong foundation of leadership, discipline, and teamwork to his practice.
Outside of work, Randy enjoys staying active through fitness, learning about history, and keeping up to date with the latest multimodel anesthesia techniques. He and his wife, a circulating nurse at the University of Iowa, share a love for healthcare. They have a daughter attending law school at the University of Alabama and enjoy life with their two dogs and three cats.
